IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BEAN
Coffee as an art begins with the highest quality beans. When it comes to coffee, it's truly all about the bean. At Kade's, we offer many different varietals, blends, and flavored coffee beans. Coffee from a single place of origin, like Kenya "AA" or Guatemalan Antigua, is called a "varietal". All the beans in these coffees come from the same region. When "varietals" from different regions are mixed together this is called a "blend." Our Lavorita Blend and French Roast Blend are examples of several different single origin beans mixed together to create a unique taste. For our "flavored" coffees, we lightly roast an Altura Mexican coffee and add the perfect amount of solvent-free flavoring. This results in the best-tasting and absolute highest quality flavored coffee!
 Our importer deals directly with the farms that produce the top 1-2% of the world's beans, which we then expertly roast in a small drum roaster. Each varietal or blend has a very carefully-regulated roasting profile that has been developed over time to unlock the best flavor in every bean.
After roasting, coffee beans "de-gas," releasing carbon dioxide as a result of the chemical reaction triggered in the roasting process. This step is crucial to the development of the flavor and aroma of the coffee. During this stage, the beans are actually too fresh for use. Since every varietal and blend has a unique roast profile and unique characteristics, there is no standard length to this maturation phase. However, the general rule is that coffee is actually at its freshest about 3 days after roasting. Which means when it arrives at your door, it is at its peak flavor!
